By using the Site, purchasing a product, or otherwise interacting with us, you agree to the terms below. This Legal Notice should be read together with our Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and Shipping Policy.

1. Who we are

2. Intellectual property

All artwork, images, text, essays, and other content on this Site — including every piece in the Mikono Tisa collections and the Perspectives on the Art of Life journal — is the original work of Nathaniel Hunter Jr. and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. “Mikono Tisa” and associated logos and names are our trademarks (registered or common-law, as applicable).

  • Purchasing a print conveys ownership of that physical print only. It does not transfer copyright, reproduction rights, or any right to use the underlying image commercially, digitally, or in any other medium, unless we agree to that in writing.

  • You may not reproduce, distribute, digitize, or create derivative works from any image or text on this Site without our prior written permission.

  • If you believe content on this Site infringes your rights, contact us at [support email address] with enough detail for us to locate and evaluate the material.

3. How our work is made — use of AI as a medium

In the interest of transparency, and because we believe you deserve to know how the art you may purchase is made: certain pieces in this studio are created using artificial intelligence tools as part of the artistic process. Every piece begins from original artwork, concepts, and direction created by Nathaniel Hunter Jr.; AI tools are used as a medium within that process — comparable to how a photographer works through a camera and lens, or a printmaker works through a press — rather than as a replacement for the artist’s own creative judgment and authorship.

We do not claim that any specific artificial intelligence system was trained in any particular way, and we make no representations about third-party tools beyond our own use of them in our process. For a fuller discussion of our approach and the questions this raises, see our essay

4. Products, printing & our fulfillment partner

Prints sold on this Site are produced and shipped on our behalf by Pictorem, an independent third-party print studio. Pictorem prints, packs, and ships each order directly to you. As a result:

  • Production timelines, packaging, and shipping are subject to Pictorem’s processes and policies, in addition to our own Shipping Policy.

  • Product specifications (materials, print quality, framing options) reflect what Pictorem is able to produce at the time of your order and may change without notice as their offerings evolve.

  • We remain your point of contact for any question or issue with an order — you do not need to contact Pictorem directly.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use this Site only for lawful purposes. You may not: attempt to copy, scrape, or reproduce Site content at scale; interfere with the Site’s security or normal operation; impersonate any person or entity; or use the Site to transmit unlawful, infringing, or harmful material.

6. Third-party links & services

This Site may link to or rely on third-party services (for example, payment processors, email providers, or Pictorem’s fulfillment systems). We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third-party services, and your use of them may be subject to their own separate terms.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, except as expressly stated in our Shipping Policy or required by applicable law. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or entirely secure.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, [Mikono Tisa Studio, LLC] will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, arising from your use of the Site or purchase of any product, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from an order will not exceed the amount you paid for that order.
